Organization in Bulle with Antonio Escalda Ribeiro

Antonio Escalda Ribeiro
Medical Radiology Specialist
Starting at the end of September, Echo sympa will be expanding its operations in Bulle with the addition of Antonio Escalda Ribeiro, an experienced medical radiology specialist.
Antonio performs ultrasound examinations in a technically structured manner and thoroughly documents the images in accordance with the practice’s internal standards. He has several years of radiology experience, particularly at the CHUV, as well as advanced training in ultrasound examinations. His application for membership in the SGUM is currently in progress.
The division of roles remains clearly defined:
- Antonio performs the examination and documents the images.
- Dr. Rainer Wolf is responsible for the diagnostic assessment, validation of the report, and medical oversight.
- Unclear or unusual situations are discussed directly.
- In Bulle, a teleconferencing system enables direct consultation between Dr. Wolf, Antonio, and the parents during the examination, if needed.
Wednesdays in Freiburg remain a joint workday dedicated to continuing education, direct feedback, image review, and standardizing protocols.
This organizational structure makes it possible to increase availability in Bulle while maintaining the familiar medical framework of “Echo sympa.”
New to the Team

Dr. med. Christin Weber
Training in Pediatric Ultrasound Diagnostics
In 2026, Dr. Christin Weber is working at Echo sympa as a resident in pediatric ultrasound diagnostics.
She is continuing her training as a pediatrician and has clinical experience in pediatrics, neonatology, and pediatric emergency medicine. She studied medicine in Freiburg and Bern. She also has experience teaching ultrasound, having served as a tutor for the introductory course in abdominal ultrasound at the University of Bern as a member of the Young Sonographers.
At “Echo sympa,” she performs pediatric ultrasound examinations in a structured and supervised setting, specifically:
- Newborn hip ultrasound according to Graf
- Abdomen
- Kidneys and urinary tract
- Urogenital region
- Soft tissues
- Musculoskeletal system
She is currently preparing for the certification exam in newborn hip ultrasound and has already performed several hundred hip examinations under the supervision of Dr. Rainer Wolf.
The examinations performed within this framework fit seamlessly into the standard medical workflow at Echo sympa: supervision, quality control, medical validation, and submission of the report in accordance with standard procedures.
