Dr. med. Rainer Wolf, Inhaber Echo sympa

Dr. med. Rainer Wolf

When I was given my first camera at age 10 and spent my free time as a young teenager experimenting in my own little darkroom, I didn’t yet realize that my passion for the language of images would one day lead me to medical imaging.

I have been an expert in pediatric ultrasound for over 25 years, and I am very pleased that today, at the Echo sympa ultrasound practice, we can place our young and very young patients and their caregivers at the center of our work.

Ultraschall Team Antonio Escalda Ribeiro

Antonio Escalda Ribeiro

Radiology Technologist – Ultrasound

Antonio Escalda Ribeiro is a radiology technologist with extensive experience in the hospital setting, particularly at the CHUV. At Echo sympa, he performs ultrasound examinations following a clearly structured protocol and documents the images in accordance with the practice’s internal standards.

He works closely with Dr. Rainer Wolf, who is responsible for medical interpretation, releasing the findings, and diagnostic responsibility.

Languages: French, Portuguese, English.

Dr. med. Christin Weber

Dr. med. Christin Weber

Resident in Pediatrics and Pediatric Ultrasound

Dr. Christin Weber will join the “Echo sympa” team in 2026.

As a pediatric resident, she already brings a wide range of clinical experience to the table: pediatrics, neonatology, pediatric emergencies, and internal medicine. She studied medicine in Freiburg and Bern and also works in a pediatric practice. This dual perspective—seeing children in the clinic and during ultrasound exams—aligns very well with the spirit of “Echo sympa.”

She has been involved in ultrasound examinations for several years: As a member of the “Young Sonographers,” she served as a tutor for abdominal ultrasound examinations at the University of Bern.

At Echo sympa, she is continuing her training in pediatric ultrasound under the guidance of Dr. Rainer Wolf. In particular, she performs Graf-method hip ultrasound examinations on newborns, as well as examinations of the abdomen, kidneys, and soft tissues, within a supervised and standardized framework.

She is currently preparing for the certification exam in neonatal hip ultrasound and has already performed several hundred examinations under supervision.

Languages: German, French, Spanish, English.
